The Six National Universities International Education and Research System to strengthen ties with ASEAN University Network

The Six National Universities International Education and Research System, of which this university is also a member, held a vice-presidents’ meeting at Mahidol University in Thailand on April 22nd with the 13 member universities of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) to sign a partnership agreement with the AUN with the aim of further globalizing the Six Major National Universities and activating student interactions in the life science field among the universities in ASEAN countries.

Starting with Dr. Masaru Araki, Okayama University’s Executive Director and Vice-President who is also the head of this organization, the meeting was attended by Prof. Nantana Gajaseni, Director of AUN and the university vice-presidents of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. We conducted discussions and proposed details in the company of Mr. Koji Tawara, the First Secretary of the Embassy in Thailand, Kuniaki Yamashita, the head of the JSPS Bangkok Office, and Go Yamamoto, the JASSO Thai office manager towards the establishment of a framework for interaction among the universities and the student interaction program.
