3rd Okayama Cup – Japanese Speech Contest Held

On October 28, in cooperation with  SixERS (Six National Universities International Education and Research System), Okayama University held the 3rd Okayama Cup – Japanese Speech Contest at Dalian Maritime University.

With “Challenging the Future” as the main theme, the speech contest drew 40 contestants from 17 schools in three provinces in northeast China. Eleven students were selected from paper entries in the first round of judging. They gave speeches in front of more than 200 spectators.

The first place prize was awarded to Bai Chongyang of Dalian Maritime University, with the second place going to Zhou Xinyi of Jilin University. Besides awards given at the contest, an additional prize awarded was a five-day study trip to Okayama University. Furthermore, the consul general of the Consulate General of Japan in Shenyang chose Zhang Yijian of Dalian University of Technology as a winner.
